One of the things that Little Walter was known for was applying a jazz=20=
saxaphone sensibility to the harp - particularly swing but also some=20
bop influences. If you disagree with that, then maybe we've been=20
talking about a different guy. I'm talking about the Chess artist who=20
backed up Muddy Waters, Jimmy Rogers, John Brim and others and who=20
tragically died at an early age. Who are you talking about?
Nobody is seriously expecting anyone to play all John Coltrane and=20
Sonny Rollins wank stuff on a standard diatonic, unless they mess=20
around with that overblow sissy stuff at the expense of intonation and=20=
tone. But all I'm saying is that there ARE guys who use phrases from=20
bop to spice up their playing.
Hope this helps!

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that somewhere I have an unrealeased and
ultra rare session of Little Walter playing Charlie Parker heads. BTW
- - LW was a huge overblower and this tape would put all of those issue
to rest. Now if I could only find that tape :-)
